Taking it Easy in NOLA

I was asked today if I was still blogging here.  Well, yeah, kinda.  I’ve been terrible at blogging for the last several months and really have no great excuse except I haven’t felt much like it.   So I’m on a mission to change that for the better.  I’ll start off with our most recent adventure – a trip to New Orleans! I started off the week at a conference with a few work pals.  We had a great time eating, exploring, learning and most importantly…taking a daily nap.  For three sleep deprived, overworked girls it was heavenly!  I would say the highlights of the conference were spending quality time with the girls, eating great food and relaxing.

Midway through the week, C flew out to join me and make a vacation out of the trip.  We did the requisite sightseeing such as St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, Bourbon St, French Quarter, the Garden District and even a cemetery.  It was great because we had a lot of time to do all these things meaning still tons of time to relax and enjoy time together.

While in New Orleans we celebrated our six-year wedding anniversary.  It was a low key day topped off with a delicious steak dinner.  In many ways its hard to believe we’ve been married six years, but in others it feels like its been longer.  Just look at all we’ve done in that time period (move to DC, grad school, move back, start jobs, buy a house, travel Europe x 3, travel the states and Caribbean, move to England and travel Europe more, move back to the US…yikes!) Its crazy that we’ve been through so much together in just over half a decade.  Here’s to sixty more wonderful, adventure-filled years together!
