Week 14

Today marks 14 weeks along.  Goober is the size of a lime, making urine, “breathing” amniotic fluid, and even sucking their thumb.  I’m officially out of my first trimester and should be feeling great.  Well, not so much.  Last week I was feeling really good, minimal nausea, rarely needing Zofran.  That all changed Monday.  I was feeling good, decided to work out for the first time in weeks.  My workout ended with me hugging the toilet.  Then for the next few days I felt like I was back in the 7th or 8th week of pregnancy – constantly nauseous, vomiting every morning.  It was bad.  Thankfully yesterday and today have been much better, so hoping it was just a fluke.  I told C maybe I shouldn’t work out any more.  Hah! I really do need to work out though so I’m going to try again and see how it goes.

In other news, Baby S received their first gift this week.  Although we were out of town for Easter Sunday my in-laws got an Easter gift for our little one.

Isn’t it cute?  They even personalized a onesie for it!

This week we started talking about registry things.  It all started with me going to a baby shop to get a belly band.  (I’ve officially hit the stage where I can’t button my pre-pregnancy pants without being unbelievably uncomfortable – it was  sad day I tell you.)  While there, I decided to browse the aisles for fun.  I stumbled across a nice/pricey/well-known diaper bag on sale for 40% off.  In an attempt to be responsible I called C to ask what he thought about me getting it.  After a little back and forth we decided it was best to wait and do some research to decide what I really wanted before dropping $$ on something.  From that stemmed some talk about starting a registry.  Is 14 weeks too early for that?  I think it would be more practical to wait until we know the sex and can plan decor but it sound kinda fun to start “shopping” for baby things.  I’ve never done this before, so I don’t really know.

Here’s to an uneventful week in the life of Goober!
