Week 37 (AKA you might be nesting if…)

**We interrupt this catch-up stretch to bring you a real time baby update**

37 weeks y’all – that means this baby is full term!!  Woohoo :-)  That means she can come any time and things are good.  Well, medically speaking.  We aren’t exactly ready for her yet, so I’d prefer she stay put for another 2-3 weeks.  That being said, she dropped a couple days ago.  She’s now sitting quite low in my pelvis making walking a little awkward.  Therefore I’m waddling more than walking thanks to pressure on my pelvis.  The last week I’ve been having some sciatic pain and tingling which is literally a pain in my butt, but thankfully it isn’t too bad and is not constant.  I’ve also been getting tired more easily and sleeping sucks.  Despite all that I’m feeling pretty great!  She’s still moving quite a bit, especially at night.  Seeing as she’s running out of room in there, the movement is a little different than before.  Much more rolling and waves vs punches and kicks.  Although I’m still experiencing the occasional jab in my ribs or liver.  I actually took a video of her party the other night just to remember what it looks like.  I’m going to try and get a better one this week – we’ll see how that goes.

I went to the OB yesterday for a regular check up and we’re now officially at the weekly visit mark.  Everything went well and our little girl is behaving.  Her heart rate is great and I’m still measuring on track.  I did ask about size and position and good news there.  She is definitely head down (spine to my right and “squishy side” to my left) and my doctor thinks she’ll be around 7-7 1/2 lbs (“no bigger than 7 3/4” is what she said).  We’ll see how accurate her prediction is.

On the prep front, I’m in full blown nesting mode!  In the last 5 days we’ve managed to finishing touching up the paint, cleaned up the paint drops from the carpet, assembled the crib, assembled the chair, assembled the bookshelves, placed the chair crib end table and bookshelf in the nursery, washed all her newborn and 0-3 month clothes, washed and folded all our blankets and cribs, put up books and stuffed animals and packed her hospital bag.  My hospital is almost packed, just missing the last minute items like camera, chargers and my iPad.  And the carseat + base has been installed in my car, just ready to bring her home!  We even put up a new headboard in our room and moved our old one upstairs to the guest bedroom.  This weekend we have help coming over to assemble the dresser and hang the curtains.  Then we need to hang wall decor and her nursery will be done!  Now if I could just be this productive with writing thank you notes….

In further prep, I’m hoping to do some make ahead freezer meals so we have real food to eat once she arrives.  However, that requires time and a clean kitchen + room in the freezer.  We’ll see how that goes.  I did manage to stow away some chocolate chip cookie dough when baking yesterday :-)

Finally, this week we took our maternity pictures.  This was the first time I’d actually met our photographer and she was great!  We had fun chatting and making googly eyes at her baby boy who she carried on her back the entire shoot.  We were able to see a couple preview photos this week but have to wait 2 weeks for all of them.  I’m excited to see what she captured!

Next post I’ll get back to catching up on our baby moon.  Have a wonderful weekend friends!
